Ryan leads quantitative analysis that informs the Centre’s policy positions on 50+ employment, employment support for older workers and economic inactivity in later working life.
As an analyst in the work team, Ryan supports the development of policy positions on employment support for older workers, age-friendly employment and transitions into retirement. He has also helped design and co-author the Centre’s research on NETERs, people over 50 who are not working, retired or training.
Before joining Ageing Better in March 2026, Ryan supported research for the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, a Canadian policy think tank and EUROSHIP, an EU funded research project. He holds a master’s degree in international social policy and a bachelor’s degree in economics and sociology.
