By 2040, we want more people in later life to be in good health, financially secure, to have social connections and feel their lives are meaningful and purposeful. But we recognise that the experience of living and ageing in rural and coastal areas can differ vastly to those living in urban towns and cities.
This webinar explored the challenges and opportunities for people ageing in rural and coastal places, the impact of the pandemic on rural communities and the action required to support their recovery.

About our partnership with Lincolnshire
We want more people to enjoy their later life, regardless of where they live, and are helping more places to take a collaborative and strategic approach to ageing, grounded in evidence.
In August 2020, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Lincolnshire County Council and East Lindsey District Council to establish a five-year strategic partnership to collaborate on a number of joint priorities. This is Ageing Better’s first partnership with a rural and coastal locality.
Find out more about the partnership
Read moreWe’ll work together to research and secure the best outcomes and opportunities for people in and approaching later life across Lincolnshire, focusing on the areas we know will make a difference to people's lives, including employment, homes, communities and health.
The partnership will support Lincolnshire in becoming an age-friendly county, adopting the World Health Organisation's framework and joining the UK Network of Age-friendly Communities.
