Wigan Council's virtual bike rides

The Care to Move initiative is helping thousands of people living in care homes to take part in fun and sustainable physical activity directly indoors.

Funded by Wigan Council, and facilitated by Inspiring healthy lifestyles, the virtual bike rides were piloted at 16 care homes before being offered to all 52 care homes in the borough.

Wigan is one of more than 40 communities working towards becoming age-friendly.
