Older jobseekers tell us that traditional employment support provision does not work for them.  However, a positive, individually tailored approach where time is given to forming trusting relationships, has proven successful in securing meaningful and sustainable work.

The case studies below show innovative ways of approaching employment support for this cohort, with a focus on ensuring that services are accessible, and relevant to the jobseekers in specific regions.

For specific information on commissioning and delivering employment support services which are most effective for people in their 50s and 60s, please refer to our guides and toolkits.

You will find examples of how other countries have approached employment support for people in their 50s and 60s here.

We are committed to sharing examples of good practice which target people in their 50s, 60s and beyond, focusing on skills development, training and effective employment support.  If you would like to work with us in showcasing your offer, please get in touch: [email protected]
