It examines how the implementation of a Good Home Hub can improve living conditions, reduce health risks and help people remain safe in their homes.
Ageing Better has commissioned LSE London to conduct a two-year independent evaluation to understand the impact of this work. This report presents findings from the first year of delivery.
The objectives of the first-year evaluation were to:
- Assess the early impact of Good Home Lincs, examining how the service supports residents to address housing problems and reduce risks associated with living in poor-quality homes
- Understand how the service operates in practice, including the processes, partnerships and delivery approaches that enable coordinated support across housing, health and local services.
- Explore the costs and potential value for money of delivering a Good Home Hub model
The first year shows strong demand for coordinated home improvement support, particularly for issues such as damp and mould, heating failures and disrepair. Even at this early stage of the two-year evaluation, the report shows that a coordinated Good Home Hub response benefits residents and professionals alike.
