As we age, it’s increasingly important to stay active enough to be able to make the most of our longer lives.
Most of us are not doing enough physical activity, and the pandemic has made this situation worse. Despite the summer of sport that the recent Olympic and Paralympic Games have showcased, 27% of people do less than 30 minutes of activity a week. Everybody knows that being physically active is good for them, but there are complex practical, psychological, and emotional barriers that mean many are not.
This webinar explored the motivators and barriers to physical activity for people in their 50s and 60s, and what might work to help people in this age group feel the benefits. It will launch and present the findings of our new report, and consider what government, industry and civil society can do to help us all get active.
We were delighted to welcome special guest, Derrick Evans MBE (also known as Mr Motivator), who joined the panel.
