Line managers are the heart of culture
Senior leaders may set goals and initiate change, but line managers have an essential role in delivering their vision. For most employees it is through their line manager that they experience the culture of an organisation.
As a manager, part of your role is to establish the culture in your team. How do you expect people to behave and interact? How do you make them feel valued? How do you offer support when they need it?
If you are a line manager it is increasingly likely that you will be managing a multigenerational team.
This brings lots of opportunities, because a breadth of experiences and different perspectives is always useful. But it can also bring challenges, because there will be differences in team member needs and preferences.
