More than 80% of the homes that will be needed in 2050 already exist today. Yet over 4 million of them are classed as being below the most basic minimum decency standard. Over the last 14 months the Good Home Inquiry has set out to find out not only why we are in this position, but what we can do about it.
Through an evidence-based analysis of housing policies, people’s experiences and through engagement with a wide variety of key stakeholders the Inquiry panel has developed a set of proposals that are ambitious, but also workable and realistic. Through the Good Home Dialogue run by BritainThinks these ideas were tested as part of a dialogue with 89 people from all tenures experiencing problems with their homes
In this webinar we discussed the Inquiry’s findings and recommendations, the policy priorities of the public and the next steps needed to improve our homes and improve the lives of millions of people.
