Ageing Better welcomes GMCA Local Industrial Strategy focus on over 50s

“It’s great to see GMCA publish a Local Industrial Strategy which seizes the opportunity of an ageing population as set out in the Ageing Society Grand Challenge. This should be a top priority for all local authorities.

“We know from our partnership with GMCA and as part of the Greater Manchester Ageing Hub how much ground-breaking work is being done there, from reducing worklessness amongst over 50s to enabling innovation to promote healthy ageing.

“The rapid shift in the age profile of the population requires an urgent response. A partnership between local leaders and national government – as well as businesses and the voluntary sector – is the best way to capitalise on this opportunity.”
