Age-positive images: Guide and terms to using our image library
This simple guide sets out the terms of usage and includes tips on commissioning your own photography that represents the reality and diversity of later life.
Images, like language, shape the way we think about old age and ageing. Given so many more of us are living longer, it’s time we started using more realistic and positive imagery.
We've launched the first free library of over 400 positive and realistic images of older people in a bid to see an end to the use of images that reinforce stereotypes of later life such as ‘wrinkly hands’ that are frequently used to depict older people.
Download this accompanying guide for information on using the image library, our full usage of terms and for some advice on how you can commission or source your own imagery that challenges negative and stereotypical views of later life.
