It aims to challenge the dominant media narrative of the wealthy homeowners failing to downsize to free up homes for younger families and highlights once more that older people are not a homogenous group.
Our research shows that older people’s moving preferences are defined by their experiences of place, and how when developing local and national housing strategies policy makers must strongly consider these experiences, as well as local circumstances.
In addition, the presentation is accompanied by a report that provide case studies as to how the methodology can work practically in areas across England.
